Fundation GmbH is an AI engineering company based in Cologne. We build our own AI products and help companies move AI projects from promising demos into day-to-day use. Our focus is retrieval systems, knowledge assistants, and AI evaluation.
Cosmin Novac founded Fundation GmbH and runs it as managing director. The company is registered at the Cologne District Court under HRB 110232. You may also find us as FundationOne or Fundation One, the names of our GitHub account and our domain fundation.one.
Why "Fundation"?
The name is deliberate. It brings together foundation models, the LLMs at the heart of modern AI, and Isaac Asimov's Foundation series, with its long view of knowledge, intelligence, and the future. We want to give companies moving into AI a solid foundation: practical, dependable, and built to last, with some FUN along the way.
We work directly with the engineers and people who will use the system. We start with their data, workflows, constraints, and likely failure cases, then build around the real problem. Clients get software that fits how their teams work and can be operated without depending on us forever.
